Overview

As an HD Mechanic at Thompson Tire & Service, you will provide exceptional mechanical services, ensuring customer safety and satisfaction through thorough inspections and repairs. You'll work collaboratively to maintain high standards of quality and safety while delivering a fantastic customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and fix issues across all vehicle systems
  • Provide clear repair estimates and communicate required services to customers
  • Perform mechanical repairs accurately per shop procedures
  • Conduct test drives and use diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle systems
  • Perform thorough inspections to identify potential safety or mechanical problems
  • Communicate additional service needs, including time and cost estimates
  • Complete repairs and maintenance in compliance with safety standards
  • Participate in training and stay updated with regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe workspace
  • Help manage inventory and keep tools in excellent condition
  • Process paperwork promptly and accurately
  • Follow all company rules and procedures diligently

Required skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the HD repair industry
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Technical expertise and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership mindset and willingness to lead by example
  • Experience with alignment and suspension (Medium Duty)
  • Preventive and fleet maintenance experience
