Job Description

Overview

As an HD Mechanic at Thompson Tire & Service, you will be responsible for providing exceptional mechanical services to customers while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing vehicle systems, and collaborating with a team to deliver a seamless customer experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and fix issues across all vehicle systems
  • Provide clear repair estimates and communicate required services to customers
  • Perform mechanical repairs accurately following shop procedures
  • Conduct test drives and use diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle systems
  • Perform thorough inspections to identify potential safety or mechanical problems
  • Communicate additional service needs, including time and cost estimates
  • Complete repairs in compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines
  • Participate in training and pursue additional learning opportunities
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Help manage inventory and keep tools in excellent working condition
  • Participate in meetings led by the Location Manager
  • Process paperwork promptly and accurately

Required skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the HD repair industry
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Technical expertise and problem-solving
  • Knowledge of alignment and suspension, preventive maintenance, and fleet maintenance
