Job Description

Overview

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Hazmat Waste Coordinator to join the WHS team in their Fulfilment Centers. The role involves management of hazardous waste disposal, ensuring safety compliance, and liaising with both internal operations and external vendors to optimize waste management processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Put health & safety best practices first in all work carried out.
  • Report to WHS and liaise with Waste Vendor for waste management activities.
  • Communicate quickly and clearly with affected departments to resolve issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback.
  • Verify waste container conditions and monitor waste storage areas periodically.
  • Coordinate hazmat trained staff for day-to-day activities related to waste management.
  • Monitor and update waste inventory based on generated hazmat waste.
  • Ensure proper classification and documentation of hazmat waste.
  • Escalate non-compliance issues to the operations Area Manager.
  • Collaborate and learn from WHS team members.

Required skills

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk during shifts
  • 2+ years of Microsoft Office experience (preferred)
