Job Description Shift 1st Shift Description Assist Smithway Driver in the following tasks: Deliver chicks from hatchery to the broiler farms 4 days per week. Perform daily pre-trip inspections of tractor/trailer and Moffett. Complete checklist to ensure that all equipment is working properly prior to loading chicks into trailer. Responsible for getting any repairs needed and reporting any problems with equipment. Place the chicks in the poultry houses at the farms. Clean and wash truck on Wednesday and trailer daily after chick hauling. Get chick delivery ticket and mortality sheet from chick room lead. Deliver mortality sheet to each grower. Requirements Able to operate Moffett. Lift at least 20 lbs. Arrive on time at 6:30 a.m. and stay until the last chick load is delivered. Read and write English and perform basic math functions. Effectively communicate with others. Physical Requirements Work in hot and cold temperatures, with exposure to dusty conditions and airborne particles.
