Overview

The Gynecology Physician Assistant role at Yale New Haven Health involves providing clinical care, assessment, and therapeutic management for patients as part of an interdisciplinary team. The position emphasizes high standards of patient education and quality management, while also allowing for professional growth and collaboration within a comprehensive healthcare system.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient and family needs.
  • Obtain medical histories, perform physical examinations, and formulate patient treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and available resources.
  • Document patient information in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain ethical behavior and professionalism in patient care.
  • Engage in professional development and serve as a clinical resource for new staff.
  • May perform procedures and prescribe treatments in compliance with guidelines.

Required skills

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
  • Active PA Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Connecticut State Physician Assistant License.
  • ACLS/BLS Certified.
  • PALS and NRP Certification, as required.
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred but not required.
