Overview

The Gynecology - Oncology Physician position at Corewell Health is a full-time in-house role intended to provide high-quality, evidence-based obstetric care in a busy labor and delivery unit. The physician will be responsible for ensuring the safety of maternal and neonatal health while managing hospital resources in collaboration with medical staff and supporting resident education.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide immediate obstetric care during entire shift.
  • Prevent maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality.
  • Supervise and educate residents and medical students.
  • Manage hospital resources appropriately for labor inductions and cesarean deliveries.
  • Facilitate patient transfers from outside hospitals.
  • Lead safety huddles and post-event debriefing sessions.
  • Assist in managing obstetric emergencies and surgical procedures.
  • Support residents in the evaluation and management of obstetrics patients.

Required skills

  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Licensure as a physician in the State of Michigan
  • DEA Registration
  • Experience in obstetrics and gynecology
  • Clinical supervision and education
  • Emergency medicine skills
