1st Shift: 5:30AM - 2:00PMHourly: $18 - $24 (Based on Experience) Location: Clarence, New York Job SummarySet up, operate, or tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, or buff, hone, or polish metal pieces.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate all tools for grinding, deburring, sanding and polishing while being proficient in grinding sheet metal.Examines and feels surface of work piece for defects.Moves grinder over surface of work piece to remove scratches and imperfectionsPolishes ground areas with finer abrasive to produce smooth, unmarred surfaceNon-essential Duties:Replaces worn abrasive disks, wheels, and beltsSelects grade of abrasive belt, wheel, or disk according to specificationsAssists in other production areas as neededFollows all safety proceduresKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Possesses basic technical knowledge of grinding tools and their safe operationAble to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasksExperience and Education:High School Diploma or GED1 - 2 years manufacturing experienceEquivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements:Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment:Safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.Must be able to:Work safely in a fast paced environmentWork overtime, including weekends as requested.Other Duties:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
