Overview

The Grants Administrator at Children First, Inc. is responsible for managing the organization's grant portfolio, including applications, awards, and reporting. This role involves developing and maintaining relationships with funders, researching new funding opportunities, and collaborating with other departments to support fundraising and public relations initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Organize and manage the grant portfolio, including applications, awards, and reporting requirements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective and current funders
  • Research new funding opportunities aligned with organizational mission and strategic priorities
  • Develop written proposals and manage the submission and reporting process for funding sources
  • Support fundraising initiatives, public relations, and events as part of the department team
  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of federal, state, and local government grants
  • Manage a comprehensive grant calendar to ensure adherence to all deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders about grant requirements and expectations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Three years of experience writing and securing non-governmental grants
  • Experience managing databases (Raiser's Edge preferred)
  • Knowledge of grant writing standards and best practices
  • Fluency in English; Spanish is desired
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Technical proficiency in donor database systems
  • Persuasive writing and storytelling skills
  • Budget development and tracking
