Overview

The University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine is seeking a Graduate Medical Learning Specialist to provide academic counseling and support for medical students. The role focuses on enhancing students' learning skills, study strategies, and academic achievement through individualized and group interventions, coaching, and collaboration with faculty and staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide academic coaching and support for medical students
  • Conduct individualized student outreach for at-risk students
  • Connect students to relevant campus resources
  • Support academic intervention programs and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean for Academic Support
  • Assess student learning styles and develop personalized academic work plans
  • Manage the peer tutoring program and supervise student workers
  • Facilitate proactive learning skills development workshops
  • Design program initiatives to support student success across medical studies

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Education
  • Two years of relevant work experience in academic support in medical schools or higher education
  • Experience providing learning support in an Allopathic school of medicine
  • Skills in academic coaching, time management, and student assessment
  • Collaboration and program development skills
