Job Description

Overview

The Graduate Medical Learning Specialist at the University of Cincinnati's College of Medicine will provide academic counseling to medical students to enhance their learning skills, study strategies, and time management. This role involves collaboration with faculty, conducting workshops, and managing a peer tutoring program to support students' academic success.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing academic coaching and support for medical students
  • Conduct individualized outreach to at-risk students and connect them with campus resources
  • Assist in academic intervention programs and monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to support students' academic needs
  • Assess student learning styles and develop individualized academic plans
  • Provide training in study skills, time management, and test preparation
  • Oversee the peer tutoring program, including hiring and supervising student workers
  • Facilitate proactive learning development workshops for students
  • Design program initiatives for student success throughout medical school

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Education
  • Two years of experience in academic support in a medical school or higher education setting
  • Experience in providing learning support in an Allopathic school of medicine
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Ability to assess and resolve academic deficiencies
