Overview

The Global Technical Director for Wallcovering at Versa Designed Surfaces is a senior technical leadership role responsible for spearheading product innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing excellence across a global portfolio. Collaborating with various departments, this position aims to align technical strategies with commercial objectives and reinforce Versa's position as a leading design and manufacturing partner.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the global technical strategy and multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Oversee product engineering, formulation development, and technical validation of new products.
  • Drive innovation in sustainable and performance-based wallcovering solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives to minimize the company's carbon footprint.
  • Provide technical expertise to product management and sales teams.
  • Communicate status and challenges to executive management.

Required skills

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or Materials Science
  • Experience with materials science, including polymers and coatings
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to communicate technical feasibility and project execution
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing settings, preferably web converting
  • Understanding of Phase-Gate, Six Sigma, and Lean practices
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
