Overview

The Global Technical Director for Wallcovering at Versa Designed Surfaces is a senior technical leadership role responsible for advancing product innovation and sustainability initiatives across a global portfolio of wallcovering solutions. This position requires collaboration with various departments to develop and execute the company's worldwide technical strategy, ensuring that innovative products are successfully brought to market.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the global technical strategy and multi-year technology roadmap for wallcovering products.
  • Direct product engineering, formulation development, and oversee technical validation of new products.
  • Drive innovation in sustainable and decorative wallcovering solutions.
  • Establish and maintain technical specifications and quality assurance systems.
  • Identify and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the company's carbon footprint.
  • Support Product Management and Sales teams by providing technical expertise.

Required skills

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or Materials Science
  • Experience with materials science, including coatings and adhesives
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to communicate process feasibility and financial planning
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably web converting
  • Understanding of Phase-Gate, Six Sigma, and Lean practices
