Overview

As a GIS Field Technician at Palmetto Engineering & Consulting, you will play a crucial role in field data collection and GIS mapping for various telecommunications and utility-related construction projects. Key responsibilities

  • Conduct field data collection and GIS mapping
  • Assist with Outside Plant Telecom projects and utility-related construction work
  • Digitize, edit, integrate, verify, and manage geospatial data using GIS software
  • Compile, extract, and organize geographic data from various sources
  • Produce time-sensitive GIS reports and maps for clients
  • Perform database design and GIS analysis for telecom design
  • Convert GIS databases between multiple formats
  • Continuously improve operations and adapt to changing priorities

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a GIS-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in ESRI GIS software: ArcPro, Collector, ArcOnline, ArcGIS Desktop 10.x, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server
  • Field data collection experience, preferably in telecom or utility work
  • Knowledge of Outside Plant Telecom and utility-related construction practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet customer specifications
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a substance abuse screening test
