Overview

Olymel is seeking a Category Manager for Direct Purchases to join its dynamic team in Boucherville, Quebec. This role involves developing purchasing strategies, negotiating with key suppliers, and contributing to the innovation of packaging products while ensuring operational performance and cost optimization.

Key responsibilities

  • Define purchasing strategies for packaging products used in factories
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, substitution, and optimization
  • Integrate production realities, including automation and technical constraints
  • Negotiate and implement agreements with key suppliers
  • Develop a pipeline for annual savings and identify market improvement opportunities
  • Monitor the market and contribute to product innovation in packaging
  • Establish supplier performance measures and create bidding tools
  • Support factories and suppliers in cost reduction while maintaining data integrity

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or engineering or relevant experience
  • 7 to 10 years of related experience
  • Excellent knowledge of the Office suite, particularly advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP management system (an asset)
  • Negotiation skills
  • Leadership
  • Adaptability
