Overview

Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a Genetics/Genomics Clinical Director in Phoenix, Arizona, to lead the expansion of their genetics/genomics program. The role involves providing medical, scientific, and technical direction within a clinical laboratory setting, focusing on diagnostic testing and consultation.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, release, and correlate clinical data to diagnose diseases from various specimens.
  • Honor requests for consultations from clinicians regarding laboratory tests.
  • Provide input for new research developments and recommendations for new tests.
  • Conduct educational programs for medical and laboratory staff.
  • Facilitate information transfer with internal and external customers.
  • Oversee laboratory Technical Directors and staff in the area of expertise.

Required skills

  • ABMGG board certification or eligibility in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG)
  • Board certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics and Clinical Molecular Genetics and Genomics
  • PhD in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or biological sciences
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with regulatory agencies
  • Experience with Six Sigma or industry quality methods
