Overview

The General Plumber at ABM Industries will be responsible for a wide variety of plumbing tasks including inspection, maintenance, and repairs in a safety-oriented team environment. This position offers stability with no travel required, being based at a single campus, and is ideal for experienced plumbing professionals seeking long-term opportunities.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot minor maintenance problems involving plumbing and equipment
  • Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets and fixing leaks
  • Complete assigned preventive and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of mechanical areas and equipment
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, and fixtures
  • Respond to plumbing emergencies and diagnose issues
  • Conduct routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems
  • Work at various heights and climb ladders regularly
  • Operate various lifts to access elevated areas

Required skills

  • P1 or P2 Plumbing Certification
  • 3-5 years of plumbing and pipe fitting experience in commercial or industrial settings
  • Familiarity with Standard Gas and Plumbing Codes and Building Codes
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and blueprints
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanical skills and preventive maintenance knowledge
