Overview

As a General Manager at Panera Bread, you will lead a high-performing team in a beloved neighborhood bakery-cafe, focusing on operational excellence and guest satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to make a real impact by driving team performance, fostering a positive environment, and overseeing daily operations to ensure the success of the cafe.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the bakery-cafe team in staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members while motivating and engaging the entire team.
  • Monitor team performance to meet operational and guest service standards.
  • Develop managers on people processes and Panera's Guiding Values & Behaviors.
  • Ensure compliance with operational procedures and company strategies.
  • Delight guests with quality food, service, and staff interactions.
  • Build long-term relationships with guests for loyalty.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe workplace following company standards.
  • Manage costs and inventory effectively.
  • Foster a culture of warmth, belonging, growth, and trust.

Required skills

  • 3+ years of restaurant General Manager experience
  • ServSafe certification or ability to achieve it
  • Strong business acumen and ability to drive positive results
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds
  • Capability to stand and walk for up to 6 hours
  • Clear communication skills in loud environments
