Job Description

Overview

The General Manager will oversee overall operations in Lodi, California, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable service while managing employee performance, risk, client satisfaction, and financial metrics. This position requires a proactive approach to build relationships and meet corporate objectives in a transportation environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage overall operations to ensure safe and reliable service delivery
  • Build relationships with employees, clients, union partners, and the community
  • Set commercial and operational strategic direction for the business unit team
  • Lead management team to achieve safety, performance, and financial goals
  • Identify and develop business growth opportunities
  • Optimize asset use including vehicle scheduling and performance management
  • Analyze KPIs to maintain positive results
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Oversee staff management and implement development training
  • Manage budget and develop action plans to improve operational efficiency
  • Ensure effective environmental compliance and sustainability management

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years managing fixed route or paratransit bus operations
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
  • Strong understanding of transit system regulations and operations
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Experience in cost control and financial budget management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of transportation technology and apps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to navigate labor relations issues
