Job Description

Overview

The General Maintenance Technician role at Micron Products involves supporting quality assurance and metrology functions to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications. The technician will analyze processes, identify defects, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and serve as a role model in customer service.
  • Provide training on Good Documentation Practices and Micron Quality System requirements.
  • Set up and operate inspection and metrology equipment, including CMMs.
  • Establish measurement methodologies and create inspection work instructions.
  • Schedule and manage measurement system analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, product development, and project teams.
  • Document and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in developing measurement qualifications for validation plans.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or 5 years of experience in a Metrologist role
  • Proficient in CMM operation and programming, specifically Hexagon PC-DMIS
  • Strong understanding of metrology and statistical analysis, including SPC
  • Knowledge of plastics injection molding and metal manufacturing
  • Understanding of drawing interpretation, including GD&T
  • Proficient in Vision Measurement System operation and programming
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably IQMS
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA CFR 820 regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab
  • Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills
