Overview

Marriott International is seeking a General Accountant to join their team in Newport, Rhode Island. This full-time position involves managing and maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Check figures, postings, and documents for accuracy
  • Organize, secure, and maintain all files and records
  • Record, store, and analyze computerized financial information
  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and tables
  • Complete period-end closing procedures and reports
  • Prepare and reconcile bills, invoices, and account statements
  • Follow up on past due accounts and vendor invoices
  • Prepare daily consolidated deposits of cash
  • Document and communicate all Cash Variances
  • Maintain cashier banks and contracts
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others
  • Support team goals and respond to employee concerns
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested
