Job Description

Overview

Cuso International is seeking a Gender Research Officer for a volunteer placement in Kingston, Jamaica, starting in August 2026. The role focuses on enhancing the capabilities of Caribbean Vulnerable Communities (CVC) by analyzing research related to the experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community in the Caribbean. Volunteers will support advocacy efforts and collaborate with the Eastern Caribbean Alliance for Gender Equality (ECADE).

Key responsibilities

  • Review existing research focused on the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Caribbean
  • Compile and analyze research documents from a gender-responsive perspective
  • Assist in advocacy efforts utilizing research outcomes
  • Collaborate with civil society organizations

Required skills

  • University degree in social/political sciences, international development, human rights, gender studies, social work, la
  • At least 3 years of experience in advancing gender equality and diversity
  • Experience with LGBTQIA+ community issues
  • Proficient in data analysis and measurement techniques
