Overview

The Gender Research Officer position at Cuso International is a volunteer placement located in Kingston, Jamaica, starting in August 2026. The role focuses on enhancing the capabilities of the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities by analyzing and interpreting research related to the LGBTQIA+ community in the Caribbean from a gender-responsive perspective.

Key responsibilities

  • Review existing research on LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Caribbean
  • Compile and analyze research documents and findings
  • Assist in advocacy efforts using research outcomes
  • Support the Eastern Caribbean Alliance for Gender Equality in similar initiatives

Required skills

  • University degree in social/political sciences, international development, human rights, gender studies, social work, la
  • At least 3 years of experience in advancing gender equality and diversity
  • Experience collaborating with civil society organizations
  • Proficient in data analysis and measurement techniques
