Overview

The Gear Manufacturing Production Planner at Precision Gears, Inc. is responsible for creating and managing production schedules that optimize machine capacity, labor, and material availability. This role involves close coordination with production teams and monitoring workflows to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain daily/weekly production schedules for gear operations
  • Maximize machine and labor efficiency by balancing workloads and managing backlogs
  • Ensure availability of raw materials and tooling before production starts
  • Monitor and adjust schedules in response to unforecasted demand or customer changes
  • Maintain inventory levels and data integrity within the MRP/ERP system
  • Act as a liaison between production, sales, procurement, and quality control

Required skills

  • Experience in manufacturing, specifically in CNC machining and gear cutting
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities to quickly reschedule jobs as needed
  • High school diploma; bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or industrial engineering preferred
