Overview

Atlas Search is seeking a skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a Gastroenterology (GI) practice in Hackensack, New Jersey. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions in outpatient and clinical settings, working collaboratively with a team of gastroenterologists and healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform detailed patient histories, physical examinations, and assessments for patients with GI-related conditions.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to guide patient management.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations.
  • Assist with or perform minor procedures, if credentialed.
  • Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures and provide necessary education.
  • Educate patients and families about gastrointestinal conditions and treatment plans.
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications, diet, and medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers and other specialists.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters in the EMR.
  • Ensure compliance with practice protocols and regulations.

Required skills

  • Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in New Jersey.
  • Experience in gastroenterology or a related specialty preferred.
  • Experience in ordering and interpreting GI-specific diagnostic tests.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality care.

What the company offers
