Overview

Jackson and Coker Locum Tenens is seeking a Gastroenterology Physician for a holiday coverage assignment in central Alabama, specifically focusing on 100% inpatient services. This role involves providing care in a designated trauma center, with an emphasis on ERCP and managing a daily patient load with the support of nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient gastroenterology coverage during specified dates
  • Manage an average of 20-25 patients per day including ER response and consultations
  • Perform daily patient rounding and consults with the assistance of NPs
  • Participate in inpatient call coverage for consultations and emergency surgeries
  • Utilize Olympus 190 equipment and G Gastro EMR in the endoscopy suite

Required skills

  • Active Alabama medical license
  • Current Board Certification
  • Fellowship training in gastroenterology preferred
  • ERCP proficiency
  • Experience in inpatient medicine and trauma care
