Overview

The Garden of Eatin' Manager (GOEM) at North Bay Children's Center is a leadership role that blends horticultural expertise with team management and program oversight. The GOEM will oversee a team of four staff and multiple garden sites in Marin and Sonoma Counties, ensuring the successful implementation of the GOE Living Curriculum and fostering a positive learning environment for children and families.

Key responsibilities

  • Directly manage and support a team of Gardeners and GOE Program Trainers
  • Oversee care and management of seasonal garden sites
  • Train, mentor, and monitor garden staff for program fidelity
  • Manage the GOE program budget and prepare program reports
  • Facilitate communication and planning for the GOE team
  • Engage in regular self-evaluation and professional development

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of hands-on gardening or landscaping experience
  • 1-3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of edible gardening and California-native plants
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite
  • Ability to manage a geographically dispersed team
