Overview

Wickers, Wickers & Admans LLP is looking for a Full-Time Probate Paralegal to join their team in Torrance, California. This role involves supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation in probate, trusts, and estates law, ensuring clients receive high-quality service by preparing and managing legal documents.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing and maintaining legal documents, pleadings, and discovery
  • Coordinate with clients and other parties to gather necessary information and documentation for probate cases
  • Draft and file legal documents with courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
  • Maintain organized case files and databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and easily accessible
  • Conduct legal research to support attorneys in developing case strategies
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates and answering inquiries
  • Answer telephones, make interoffice memos, and coordinate potential new client calls with attorneys
  • Assist the team as needed

Required skills

  • ABA-approved paralegal certification
  • Knowledge of firm computer software programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, Clio)
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Typing speed of 65wpm+
  • Experience in estate, probate, and/or litigation preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic credentials; relevant work experience a plus
