Overview

Description: The Level 3 School-Age Paraprofessional provides direct instructional, behavioral, and administrative support to special education teacher(s) and students in grades K-4 in a structured classroom setting. This position requires collaboration with special education teachers, BCBA, SLP, OT, and PT professionals. He/she will ensure a safe, productive, and inclusive learning environment. This role is designed for individuals with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills who can work effectively with diverse learners (autistic, nonverbal) in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.We are looking for a full-time position at our Southwest Center (138th &Q) to work in our Level 3 classroom as a Paraprofessional Monday through Friday from 9am-5:30pm. Starting pay is $17.00 - $21.00 an hour, based on experience. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in a childcare program and/or college courses in education/child development preferred, but not required. On-site paid training and CEU's. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist special education teacher(s) and the rest of the child's team in implementing all instructional plans - this includes IEP goals and Behavior Improvement Plans (BIP).Understand all aspects of each student's IEP and collaborate with professional teams to meet quarterly goals.Communicate with students' professional team (this could include all or some of the following people - lead special education teacher(s), BCBA, OT, PT, SLP) regarding student's behavior, use of physical aggression, use of their device to communicate and all other aspects of the student's educational day.Support students during all classroom activities, group work, and out-of-classroom supervision (e.g., sensory walks, recess etc.)Complete incident reports as needed for extended times of physical aggression.Monitor and reinforce positive behavior; implement or assist with behavior-management in all aspects.Attend and be certified in MANDT training Use Rethink for data collectionHelp prepare all learning materials including sensory supplies.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment for all studentsAssist with administrative tasks such as attendance, filing, and record-keeping.Communicate regularly with professional team, directors, students, and parents about student progress, questions, ideas and/or concerns.Participate in planning meetings, certain special education assessment meetings, and professional development.Support students with special needs, English language learners, or those requiring additional behavior or academic assistance.
