Overview

IA Recruiting is seeking a full-time Family Nurse Practitioner for a primary health care system in San Antonio, Texas. The role involves providing comprehensive out-patient care, including diagnosing and treating patients while collaborating with a supervising physician.

Key responsibilities

  • Examine, diagnose, treat and/or refer patients on an out-patient basis.
  • Prescribe medications and treatment regimens as appropriate.
  • Maintain health records and ensure documentation in electronic health records.
  • Provide timely medical services as per clinic schedule.
  • Refer patients for specialty care, lab, and ancillary services.
  • Review lab and x-ray reports and make medical management decisions.
  • Maintain productivity standards and efficient patient flow.
  • Provide excellent customer service to assist patients.
  • Train and mentor medical students and clinical support staff.
  • Participate in health promotion and education programs.
  • Attend and participate in clinic and departmental meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Master's Degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Board Certified AANP, ANCC or related
  • Previous Family Nurse Practitioner experience
  • Current unrestricted license to practice from the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Annual continuing medical education as required by board specialty
  • Registered and current DEA
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association
