Overview

M Price Distributing Co is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic Assistant to support heavy truck and equipment repairs in their beverage distribution operations based in Hampton, VA. This entry-level position focuses on basic preventative maintenance and offers opportunities to learn more complex diagnostics and repairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Diesel Mechanic with repairs and diagnostics in the shop and on the roadside
  • Deliver vehicles to off-site repair shops
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes and electrical system repairs
  • Maintain thorough documentation of work performed
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed

Required skills

  • 1+ year mechanical experience with vehicles (diesel engines preferred)
  • Valid driver's license (Class A license required after 6 months)
  • Working mechanical knowledge of hand tools and power tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
