Overview

IA Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Controller to oversee financial operations for their client in Corsicana, Texas. This role encompasses managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while fostering long-term relationships within the team and with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including AR, AP, payroll, inventory, and general ledger
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Monitor cash flow, margins, and dealership performance metrics
  • Partner with leadership to guide financial decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting standards
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and processes
  • Oversee floor plan financing and manufacturer reporting requirements
  • Support sales and service departments with financial insights and reporting

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a dealership or inventory-based business
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with inventory accounting and floor plan financing
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
