Job Description

Overview

As a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst at Daniel Defense, you will support the Director of FP&A in delivering high-quality financial planning, forecasting, and analytical capabilities across various departments. You will serve as a key financial resource for Operations, New Product Development, Sales, and Marketing, significantly impacting the organization's financial health and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the annual Business Plan process, including departmental budget builds and executive-level reporting.
  • Prepare quarterly rolling forecasts and track actuals against the plan.
  • Maintain and update financial models for short- and long-range planning.
  • Prepare monthly variance analyses comparing actuals to plan and forecast.
  • Investigate variance drivers and present findings to CFO and ELT.
  • Serve as a financial resource for cross-functional departments.
  • Facilitate scenario analyses and assist with resource decisions.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of FP&A tools and processes.
  • Analyze operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities for profitability.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in FP&A or corporate finance.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Infor, Epicor, or similar).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills with non-financial stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborative mindset and strong business acumen.
