Overview

As a Foreperson at New Mexico Gas Company, you will lead and oversee construction projects involving gas pipe maintenance, installation, and excavation. The role involves coordinating crew activities, ensuring safety compliance, and resolving issues related to project execution. Successful candidates will need experience in a similar role and leadership skills to effectively manage crew operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently plan, organize, schedule, and lead assigned crew(s) and equipment
  • Coordinate daily job assignments and ensure safety compliance
  • Ensure work is performed according to safety guidelines and company policies
  • Oversee operations involving welding and pipeline maintenance
  • Anticipate and resolve issues related to projects and contracts
  • Provide on-the-job training and conduct inspections of crew work

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Valid New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 1 year of hire
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Operator Qualifications (OQs) within 12 months
  • Experience with backhoe operations and welding techniques
