Overview

COMHAR Inc. is seeking a Food Service Technician in Walnutport, Pennsylvania, to provide safe and nutritious meals to adults with serious mental illness as part of a therapeutic residential program. This role emphasizes supporting residents' recovery through appropriate dietary planning and kitchen management within a structured environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve balanced and nutritious meals for residents
  • Partner with nursing staff to plan meals according to individual dietary guidelines
  • Train residents in nutrition, menu planning, and food preparation
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen and storage areas
  • Order and inventory food supplies in compliance with budgetary provisions
  • Post weekly menus and maintain documentation of special diets
  • Serve meals and assist with dining area management
  • Ensure all kitchen safety standards are followed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Safe Serve Certificate (COMHAR will assist in obtaining)
  • Current Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
  • Experience with individuals with serious mental illness preferred but not required
