Job Description

Overview

FM Approvals is seeking a mid-level Quality Auditor to conduct conformity assessment audits at manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with FM Approvals requirements. This role requires substantial travel and will involve building relationships with manufacturers while delivering clear audit reports.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site audits of manufacturing facilities to verify compliance with FM Approvals requirements
  • Review technical documentation, product markings, inspection equipment, and calibration records for compliance
  • Deliver clear, professional audit reports and communicate findings with stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturers by managing customer interactions
  • Document facts and observations to support audit findings and conclusions
  • Efficiently manage audit schedules

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or a science-based equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of manufacturing process experience
  • 5+ years of related quality assurance and quality auditing experience
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience in manufacturing, quality control, and audit practices
  • Comfortable working independently and managing own schedule
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting conformity assessment audits
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with measurement tools such as pressure gauges, calipers, voltmeters, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering technical drawings
