Overview

FM Approvals is seeking a mid-level Engineering Quality Auditor II to join their Auditing and Quality Assurance department in Houston, TX. The role involves conducting conformity assessment audits at various manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with FM Approvals requirements, requiring significant travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site audits of manufacturing facilities to verify compliance with FM Approvals requirements
  • Review technical documentation, product markings, inspection equipment, and calibration records for compliance
  • Deliver clear, professional audit reports and communicate findings with all stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturers by managing customer interactions
  • Document facts and observations to support audit findings and conclusions
  • Efficiently manage audit schedules

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or science-based equivalent
  • 5+ years of manufacturing process experience
  • 5+ years of related quality assurance and quality auditing experience
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and detail-driven
  • Experience in manufacturing, quality control, and audit practices
  • Tenured audit experience with proficiency in conformity assessment audits
  • Ability to observe, document, and evaluate audit observations
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with measurement tools such as pressure gauges, calipers, voltmeters
