Overview

Solar Contract Carpet is looking for an experienced Flooring Installation Supervisor to lead installation crews, ensure quality standards, and support field operations. This role requires a flooring professional ready to step into a leadership position, with about 60% travel across Michigan for day trips involved.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and support multiple flooring installation crews
  • Conduct job site visits for quality assurance
  • Perform quality control inspections on jobs
  • Assist installers with questions and problem resolution
  • Coordinate with customers and installation teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Identify issues and develop corrective action plans
  • Provide coaching and training on installation techniques and customer service
  • Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings
  • Organize installation schedules based on crew availability and workload

Required skills

  • Minimum 10 years of flooring installation experience
  • Experience with multiple flooring types (carpet, LVP, laminate, sheet vinyl)
  • Previous leadership or supervision experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of flooring installation best practices
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Flooring manufacturer certifications (preferred)
  • Experience in flooring inspections or quality control (preferred)
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is a plus
