Overview

The Float Pharmacist role at UnitedHealth Group's Genoa Healthcare involves performing professional duties related to medication processing and patient care across various pharmacies in upstate New York. This position is part of a collaborative team focused on serving individuals with behavioral health and addiction treatment needs, aiming to enhance their lives through effective medication management and support.

Key responsibilities

  • Distribute drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners
  • Provide information to customers about medications and their use
  • Focus on delivering a superior level of customer service
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws of the applicable State Board of Pharmacy
  • Administer immunizations as allowed by State Boards of Pharmacy
  • Perform other usual and customary pharmacy duties

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD
  • Current pharmacist license in the state of New York
  • Certified immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 3 months of hire
  • Authorization to administer long-acting injectables or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid driver's license
