Overview

Contract Lumber is seeking a Fleet Technician to maintain and repair all company vehicles and equipment in Brownsburg, Indiana. The role involves day-to-day scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repairs, ensuring that the fleet is operating efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on company vehicles, commercial trailers, yard lifts, and truck mounted forklifts.
  • Conduct unscheduled repairs as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and note any defects for repair.
  • Build positive relationships with vendors and team members.
  • Adapt to varied and conflicting organizational demands.

Required skills

  • Experience in fleet maintenance and vehicle repair
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical components, and engine types (gas, LP, diesel)
  • Proficiency with computers and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to weld and use plasma cutting tools
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Capability to interpret documents and instructions
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to take on various responsibilities
