Job Description

Overview

The Fleet Operations Manager at Blue Peak Tents is responsible for the readiness, compliance, and lifecycle management of the company's fleet, including over 80 vehicles and trailers. This role will oversee all aspects of fleet operations, ensuring that assets are road-ready and compliant with regulations. It offers a clear pathway to a full Transportation Manager position.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the preventative maintenance schedule for all fleet assets
  • Ensure all vehicles, trailers, generators, and equipment are field-ready
  • Manage pre-trip and post-trip inspection processes
  • Track maintenance invoices and work orders
  • Monitor high-cost vehicles and make repair vs. replace recommendations
  • Own DOT inspection records and insurance documentation
  • Build and maintain vehicle binders for road-worthy assets
  • Track IFTA and IRP compliance for applicable units
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all fleet vendors
  • Manage active vehicle leases and coordinate vehicle deliveries
  • Maintain the Blue Peak Fleet Tracker and provide monthly status reports
  • Oversee readiness and deployment scheduling of restroom trailers

Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience managing a commercial vehicle fleet
  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and service contracts
  • Proficiency with fleet tracking tools and spreadsheets
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate trucks
  • Military background in transportation or logistics (preferred)
  • Experience with leased fleet management (preferred)
  • CDL Class A or B (preferred)
  • Experience supervising technicians (preferred)
  • Experience in the event or rental equipment industries (preferred)
