Job Description

Overview

The Fleet Mechanic Level II at Solitude Mountain Resort plays a crucial role in maintaining a variety of vehicles, requiring strong expertise in gas and diesel engines as well as hydraulic and electronic systems. This full-time position includes responsibilities such as preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior mechanics, ensuring the overall performance and reliability of the fleet.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on all fleet vehicles
  • Maintain gas and diesel engines
  • Provide quality control for all Level I mechanics and below
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulics and electrical components
  • Train and mentor Level I and apprentice technicians
  • Assist Level III technicians as needed
  • Perform fabrication skills as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance
  • Strong gas and diesel engine knowledge
  • Experience with hydraulics and electronics
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in adverse conditions
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Personal tools and tool chest
  • Snowcat and heavy equipment experience preferred
