Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor at Capital Waste Services is responsible for overseeing a team of technicians who perform preventive maintenance and repairs on the fleet. This role ensures that all operations comply with safety and regulatory standards, while also planning and scheduling work to minimize service disruptions and enhance vehicle uptime.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of technicians for preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Plan and schedule repair work to ensure timely completion
  • Monitor and inspect repairs to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Assist in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of technicians
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding fleet maintenance operations
  • Manage maintenance costs and operational performance
  • Prioritize repairs to minimize service interruptions
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance operations

Required skills

  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents
  • Effective communication skills across various organization levels
  • Strong motivational and coaching abilities
  • Three years of vehicle and hydraulic maintenance experience
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Valid commercial driver's license preferred
  • Mechanic school certification and/or ASE certification preferred
