Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor at Capital Waste Services LLC is responsible for overseeing a team of technicians tasked with the preventive maintenance and repair of the fleet. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while planning and scheduling repair work efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of technicians for fleet maintenance and repairs
  • Plan and schedule repair work to ensure timely completion
  • Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating technician performance
  • Monitor work quality and adherence to safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Control maintenance costs and optimize operational efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with upper management regarding fleet operations
  • Prioritize repairs to minimize service disruptions
  • Manage data input into the vehicle maintenance system

Required skills

  • Knowledge of OSHA and DOT federal regulations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents
  • Effective communication skills across various levels
  • Strong motivational and coaching skills
  • Experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Leadership experience as a supervisor or manager
  • Valid commercial driver's license preferred
  • Mechanic school certification and/or ASE certification preferred
