Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Diesel Technician (B) at Republic Services is responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. Under the supervision of experienced technicians, this role involves working on various vehicle components, including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, while supporting a fleet of state-of-the-art vehicles in a stable industry.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks
  • Conduct preventative and repair maintenance on various vehicle components including chassis, refuse bodies, and control systems
  • Execute basic tire work, such as replacement and rotation
  • Provide road service to ensure equipment is operational
  • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools
  • Complete company training programs and follow safety protocols

Required skills

  • Knowledge of diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and electrical systems
  • Basic understanding of HVAC repair, suspension systems, and drivetrain maintenance
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and welding/fabrication
  • 3-5 years of technician experience with gasoline and diesel equipment
  • Valid Driver's License
