Job Description

Overview

The Fleet Maintenance Diesel Technician (B) at Republic Services is responsible for performing repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. Working under supervision, the technician will engage with advanced machinery, ensuring efficient operations and safety while addressing various vehicle systems and components.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks.
  • Maintain knowledge of chassis components, hydraulic systems, and air braking systems.
  • Conduct light engine repairs and maintain suspension and drive train systems.
  • Provide road service to ensure equipment is operational.
  • Diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools.
  • Complete company training programs and perform job-related duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Experience with maintenance on light to heavy-duty trucks.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine repair and related systems.
  • Skills in hydraulics, electrical systems, and chassis repair.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Basic inspection abilities with minimal supervision.
  • ASE Certifications for relevant vehicle systems (T1-T8) preferred but not required.
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred but not required.
