Overview

The Flagger at Peckham Industries plays a critical role in directing traffic around road construction sites to ensure the safety of both workers and the public. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment while adhering to safety regulations and guidelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate traffic patterns and work zone conditions
  • Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic using hand signals, signage, and communication tools
  • Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices
  • Collaborate and communicate with fellow flaggers and construction personnel
  • Report unsafe conditions or incidents to a supervisor

Required skills

  • Valid Flagger certification
  • Prior experience in a construction/traffic control environment
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow regulations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of work zone safety practices
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
