Overview

FOX Rehabilitation is seeking a Fitness Specialist to provide group exercise and personal training for older adults at a Senior Living Community in Altoona, IA. This part-time role is well-suited for individuals passionate about healthy aging and functional fitness, offering a chance to develop and grow wellness programs within supportive community settings.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead group exercise classes and personal training sessions for older adults.
  • Grow the wellness program and engage residents to increase participation.
  • Collaborate with therapy team members and build relationships for referrals.
  • Educate residents and families about the benefits of wellness programming.
  • Travel to patient residences for house call sessions as needed.
  • Expand reach into additional communities as the role evolves.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Exercise Physiology; OR Certified Personal Trainer certification.
  • Experience working with older adults in wellness settings.
  • Comfort with educating and presenting wellness program benefits.
  • Ability to travel between senior living communities and patient residences.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
