About the Position Are you a fiscal professional who enjoys solving problems, analyzing financial information, and helping others navigate complex rules and processes? Do you have a strong eye for detail and take pride in making sure public funds are used appropriately and responsibly? If so, the Fiscal Analyst 1 position with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) may be a great fit for you! As a Fiscal Analyst 1, you'll play a key role in supporting the agency's financial operations and ensuring employees have the fiscal guidance and support they need to do their work effectively. As part of the Fiscal Unit within the Operations Division, you'll serve as the agency's Fiscal Training Registrar and Fiscal Travel Specialist while also managing accounts receivable activities and providing backup support for purchasing and revenue functions. This position offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to apply your fiscal expertise in meaningful ways. You'll interpret state and agency rules and policies, review financial requests and documentation, analyze financial reports, resolve discrepancies, and advise staff on appropriate use of state funds. Your work will help ensure the agency's fiscal practices are accurate, compliant, efficient, and aligned with state accounting best practices.
