Overview

CMTS LLC is seeking Fire Safety Subject Matter Experts for aviation and infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Delaware. The role involves providing technical leadership in fire protection and life safety systems for airport facilities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and operational needs while fostering a culture of professionalism and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design review, and technical oversight of fire protection systems for airport facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes and airport standards during the design process.
  • Provide technical oversight for fire suppression and emergency response systems.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and ensure integration with HVAC and building automation systems.
  • Coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) and other stakeholders throughout project phases.
  • Lead the planning, design review, integration, and commissioning of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Verify system operations and participate in factory and site acceptance testing.
  • Support operational readiness activities and training for airport operations teams.

Required skills

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  • 10-15 years of experience in fire protection and life safety system design, integration, and commissioning
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Fire Protection Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
  • Experience with fire suppression and alarm systems including smoke control and emergency communication systems
  • Proficiency in system testing, commissioning, and performance validation
  • NICET certifications in Water-Based Systems Layout or Fire Alarm Systems preferred
  • Software skills in Procore, e-Builder, Microsoft 365, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
