Job Description

Overview

As a Fire Alarm Inspector at Johnson Controls, you will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance on fire safety product lines. The role requires working with low-voltage wiring and ensuring the timely completion of inspections while following safety guidelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of fire alarm systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical and suppression systems
  • Work with low-voltage wiring and associated devices
  • Complete service acknowledgements via laptop or hard copy
  • Follow a structured inspection schedule
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes
  • Provide technical training to junior inspectors
  • Complete inspections on time and perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • CFAA Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of inspection or service experience in Fire Alarm
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents
  • Familiarity with hand tools and multimeters
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various positions
  • Flexible work availability including weekends
  • Commitment to safety policies and procedures
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
